Be back in a jiffy!

Hello and welcome to my website. It's currently under maintenance. *bummer*

I am Mayank Sharma, one of a handful of technology writers/journalists, who cover the FLOSS beat, exclusively. Brief blurb from the ego-page is echo'ed below for new visitors.

I am a technology writer by accident, a hacker at heart, and a Free and Open Source Software supporter by choice. I published my first technical article at 17 and was officially a freelancer soon after writing for an Indian newbie computer magazine -- Computers@Home. At 18 I was featured on India's first technology channel -- TMG Enter -- as India's youngest freelancer. My first Linux-related article was for LinuxLookup.com and I did a brief stint as the Assistant Editor of LINUX For You, India's first and only print magazine on Free/Open Source Software.

Since 2004 I have been writing for US-based SourceForge, Inc. where I am now a Contributing Editor for Linux.com and its Asian Correspondent. I also write for IBM developerWorks occasionally and host the Linux-security space (IBM's technical equivalent to MySpace). I also write a monthly column for UK-based Packt Publishing and have published two titles with them -- the book on Elgg is on sale, while the other has just entered into production. I love to teach and have done so at IIT, Delhi -- one of India's premier IT schools.
